Subnational Measurement with Geospatial Data
Studying subnational units (such as states, counties, legislative districts, commuting zones, etc.) is often impeded by the limited and unevenly distributed data. This workshop provides an overview of the issues and methods involved in creating measures for subnational units and an introduction to the major spatial methods. We cover both conventional Multilevel Regression with Poststratification (MrP) and Bayesian spatial methods with implementations in R and Python.
